HANDLE WITH CARE

All Heather Rathbun jewellery designs are hand finished and therefore delicate in nature. Treat your jewellery with love and care to improve its longevity.

Store jewellery in a cool, dry environment away from the sun. Storing jewellery in ziploc bags will help to protect from the elements of daily exposure.

Remove your jewellery before exercising, swimming, bathing, and sleeping. Avoid unnecessary exposure to heat and moisture when possible.

Exposure to cosmetics and household chemicals such as bleach should be avoided.

CLEANING

Soak jewellery in lukewarm soapy water using a detergent free soap (such as dish soap) and gently clean using a soft toothbrush. Rinse well and dry with a soft cloth.

TARNISHING

Exposure to air causes metals like sterling silver to oxidize (tarnish). When required, clean your silver jewellery with a polish formulated to remove tarnish in silver, such as a polishing cloth or dip cleaner. These products are readily available in household shops and jewellery supply stores.

PLATING + ANTIQUING

Antiquing and various plating used on select designs will wear off over the course of time. Re-plating/antiquing services are available for a small maintenance fee. Contact us for pricing.

Do not clean plated or antiqued jewelry with chemicals, instead gently wipe with a damp towel.

ROLLER CHAIN (SPROCKET COLLECTION)

The black roller chain used in the SPROCKET COLLECTION is made of an industry grade resin (plastic). This material is designed to be used in small machinery. The industrial strength quality of the chain makes it an ideal alternative to the everyday jewellery chain. The chain has a degree of flexibility, allowing the wearer the option to open the links in the chain. Sections of chain can be added or removed, enabling the chain to be worn at different lengths. This feature compliments the adjustable design of the necklaces (e.g.: if you shorten the length of the necklace using the pulley system, you can remove the extra portion of chain).
